Pass the New York Bar Exam
Wondering how to pass the New York bar exam? We think we've got the best bar prep course for the New York bar, but, don't take our word for it. Here's a review from a former BarWrite student.
To Whom It May Concern,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter on behalf of Dr. Mary Campbell Gallagher and the BarWrite Course. I participated in Dr. Gallagher's intensive group course and I believe that it gave me the edge that I needed to pass the New York State Bar Exam.
BarWrite is a unique course in that it focuses on the basics of exam preparation - the New York Bar Exam is an exam based on a student's knowledge of the law. Dr. Gallagher's course focuses on teaching students how to learn the law with precision. I felt quite confident as I walked into the exam because of the law that I knew based on Dr. Gallagher's weekly memorization drills and the "World Cup of Memorization" class competition held upon the course's completion.
I am also convinced that Dr. Gallagher's approach to writing essays using the "Under-Here-Therefore" essay system enhanced my written skills. My writing became more organized and succinct using this approach because it provided a framework for each of the bar examiner's issues that I had to address. Quite frankly, I believe that this system developed my writing ability to be more lawyer-like - a value which is practical not only for the bar exam, but also for a career within the legal profession.
Dr. Gallagher's MBE study system was quite beneficial. Through this system the students tests themselves on small groups of MBE practice questions according to subject matter, (e.g., offer and acceptance). Questions answered incorrectly are converted into flash card study aids. The students are encouraged to memorize the rules for these questions and to do the analysis for each question the following day and to recite the rule. This process is repeated daily, which reinforces the student's knowledge of the rules and keeps the information fresh in the weeks leading up to the exam. It also builds up the student's arsenal of law, which helps with both the MBE and the essay portion of the New York Bar Exam.
The BarWrite course is designed to produce successful results on the bar exam; its structure is particularly useful for exam re-takers. I was unsuccessful in passing the New York Bar Exam until I took Dr. Gallagher's course. The structure of the course, as mentioned herein, built up my knowledge of the law and developed my confidence with how to attack the essay and MBE questions. BarWrite gave me the edge that I needed to succeed on the exam and I am sure that it will continue to produce successful bar members in years to come.
Sincerely,
Lynnore Lawton Thames, Esq.
